What you can book, and what is different about each

Stays, tours, hire cars, transfers, charters, packages and events — how each one is priced and what checkout asks for.

Everything on BukNau books the same way — see the price, book, pay the operator by bank transfer, get confirmed. What differs is how each thing is priced and what the operator needs from you. Here is each one in a few lines.

  • Stays (guesthouses, lodges, hotels) — priced per room per night. Pick check-in and check-out dates and a room type; you can add more than one room to a booking. A passport or ID on file is optional but makes check-in faster.
  • Tours and experiences — priced per person on a single date, with a set number of seats per departure. Children pay a child price if the operator has set one, otherwise the seat rate. An emergency contact is asked for at checkout.
  • Hire cars — priced per day from pickup to return, plus a refundable security deposit shown separately. A valid driver's licence is required at checkout; the operator cannot confirm a self-drive hire without it. Pickup and drop-off places are optional.
  • Transfers (airport and inter-town) — a fixed price per trip on a published route, on a single date with a departure time. You choose a vehicle class, and the price is for the vehicle, not per person. Pickup and drop-off addresses are required. An armed escort or an out-of-town pickup is an add-on you choose at checkout.
  • Fishing charters and boat trips — a charter service on a single date, priced per angler or for the whole boat, with a refundable deposit like a hire car. Booking it holds that boat for the length of the trip. An emergency contact is asked for.
  • Packages — a trip an operator has put together at one flat price: for example two nights plus a day tour. Booked and paid as one thing.
  • Events and festivals — dated, ticketed sign-ups rather than bookings. Pay to reserve your place; if it is full you join a waitlist and are moved up automatically when a place frees.

A security deposit is not part of the price. It is returned after the hire or charter. If the operator needs to deduct for damage, they must itemise it within 2 days of the deposit falling due, and you are emailed the itemisation. They can never deduct more than the deposit.

Extras — breakfast, a child seat, fuel, gear — are offered by the operator on the listing and priced per booking, per night or day, or per person. Any extra you choose is on the booking total before you pay.

Quick answers

Do I need a driver's licence to book a hire car?

Yes. A valid licence is required at checkout — the operator cannot confirm a self-drive hire without it. The deposit is separate from the price and returned after the hire.

Is a transfer priced per person?

No — per trip, for the vehicle class you choose. Pick the class that fits your party and luggage. Pickup and drop-off addresses are required at checkout.

Why does a charter ask for a deposit?

It is security for the boat, like a hire car's deposit, and it is returned after the trip. Any damage deduction must be itemised within 2 days and can never exceed the deposit.
